Parents,

 We have to order football jerseys no later than June 15th so we can have them to us by our first game (it takes a while to get them as we are not the only football program ordering jerseys).  In an effort to size the boys for jerseys, so they are not overly huge on them, we are setting up three options to choose.  EMCA will arrange to have various sized shoulder pads available for the fitting.

 Option 1: Tuesday, May 22nd; 3:00-4:00PM

Option 2: Wednesday, May 23rd; 10:00AM-3:00PM (This is a teacher workday but someone will be there to size your child.)

Option 3: You are on your own with this one.  You could take your child to Academy in Prattville or Olympia in Montgomery and ask them to size your child.  However, you will still need to email me this size no later than June 8th!

Regardless of what you choose, please let me know which one you will do as soon as possible!!  Coach Phillips needs to know who is coming when so he can have the appropriate help with him.  Please, email me at deannawbyrd@gmail.com with what choice you want by tomorrow Friday, May 18th at 3PM.

Dear Parents:

We had several athletes who failed to get physicals this past Wednesday. As stated in AISA rules, no athlete will be allowed to participate in any workouts/practice until a fully completed physical is on file with the athletic director. A fully completed physical includes, the actual physical form which must be filled out and signed by a physician, a medical history form, an AISA permit form, a medical release form and a concussion form. All of these forms are available on the AISA website (aisaonline.org). Summer workouts begin on June 4^th for boys and girls. Please make sure they have ALL of the physical forms completed or they will not be allowed to participate.

Pee Wee & Termite Football: 

Congratulations Parents!  We have enough boys to field both a Pee Wee and Termite Football team in the fall (still accepting additional players if have not yet committed)!!  Remember the Spring Football Clinic is this Saturday, May 12^th 9AM-12PM.  We encourage everyone to attend that is going to be signing up for football in the fall.  Here is some need to know information about this Saturday:

• Dress is shorts and t-shirts. Wear a rubber soled shoe or rubber cleats.
• Clinic is designed to teach elementary players basic football fundamentals (NO CONTACT).
• Parents are welcome to stay and watch. Bring a chair.
• Time for clinic is 9:00 and we will end around 10:30 or sooner if small group. Afterwards we will meet concerning the termite and pee wee program for next year.
• No medical release required. No more activity than a PE class.
• We will take breaks at each 20 minute interval…plenty of water.
• Varsity and JV players will be teaching with interaction from football coaching staff.

 The EMCA Student Government Association was awarded a certificate and a $100 check at the AISA State Convention on Monday, May 7^th  for winning the Statewide Can-A-Thon .  We donated over 7,000 canned food items to charity, more than any other school in AISA.  Thank you to Mrs. Button, Mrs. Painter and all who helped to make our Can-A-Thon such a success!
